Meet the team
Our friendly, helpful team can empathise with all your horse issues as during a lifetime of horse ownership there’s not much we haven’t been through ourselves. You’ll notice the difference from your very first call.
Penny Reid – co-founder and director
With a life-long passion for horses, I originally trained as a riding instructor, and worked “hands on” with horses for several years.
In 1994 I was given the opportunity to start a new career in the horse insurance industry in which I have worked for continuously for the last 20 years, starting in telesales and working my way up to operations manager. I enjoy combining running Equicover with finding time to ride and care for our three family horses and watching them compete in dressage and eventing.
Kiren Dennehy – co-founder and director
I have worked in the insurance industry since 1989 and my background was originally marine and general insurance. Although I was not from a “horsey” background my insurance experience led to me being head hunted by a horse insurance broker as their claims manager. After 14 years working in horse insurance with horse mad colleagues, I have become thoroughly involved with the equestrian way of life. I have worked with Penny since 1995 and am immensely proud of the team.
Corinne Morris – sales and customer services
I have loved horses from a very young age, which led me to study for my degree in Equine Science and later to qualify as an Equine Massage Therapist. After graduating, I worked in retail and customer service for a number of years, before joining the team at Equicover - I love being able to chat to people about their horses every day! I bought my first horse, Barney, in 2012 and we enjoy the odd bit of jumping and long hacks around the countryside.
Mandy Czyz – senior claims assessor
I qualified as an intermediate riding instructor in 1986 and bought my first horse at the age of 22. In 2001 I began working in horse insurance and have always worked in claims. This is a challenging role and requires me to keep up to date with the advances in veterinary medicine. As a horse owner myself I can empathise with problems people experience with their horses. My working day begins early as I ride before work, my current horse Wiz competes at dressage and eventing.
Nicky West – sales and customer services.
After completing 4 years study in equine and business management I worked on competition yards and developed a keen interest in dressage.
I began working in equine insurance in 2003 and gained 8years experience in various roles from sales to claims assessor. I am enjoying being reunited with the team at Equicover. Outside of work I enjoy walking my Jack Russell Terrier called Charlie and have a part loan of a 16.3 Warmblood gelding known as the “French Prince” since I lost my equine companion of 15 years. I am hoping to find a new equine friend in the near future.
